Pre-race routine:

Up early, drank an Odwalla protein drink and then went and set up Athletes for a Cure tent. Did a gel 15 minutes before with lots of water...

I was getting very hot again, but unlike last OHio race, I kept the fluid and salt up and did not push it... made for a lousy run but I had lots of energy for the rest of the day with my family... well worth it...

None, spent time with family

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Took it easy to be sure the rest of the day went well... did not cost too much time, increased my enjoyment of the course and day... interesting...

Event comments:

Well run regional race, everyone seemed to have a great time and I will do it again next year if the opportunity presents itself...

Got to spend some time with David of BT, it was a great day!!!!!

HR went through the roof!!! AVG 154... at the end of mile three I walked out one mile to bring my HR down and then did an easy 10+ pace for the last two. I was spending the day with my family to celebrate life and my birthday, saved my energy...
Course: Very flat and very pretty... well laid out and nicely done, good pace to go...
