Pre-race routine:

Goals as of 29 Oct. Stretch 3:50 (8:47) A 3:55 (8:58) Trust the training and quit stressing about it!

Woke at 330 for a bite to eat and drink 2 cups applesauce and gatoraid. Back to bed till 530. Up, shower coffee and ensure, miracle salt and on the road. Traffic was horrendous and we ended up walking a long way

Event warmup:

Traffic kept us from getting to the event early National anthem went while we were at coral 22, we were in 6. Started at gun +12 min but with my group. Nearly 2 mi walk to the start line.
Run
  • 4h 05m 47s
  • 26.2 miles
  • 09m 23s  min/mile
Comments:

Went out too fast, just a little but I paid for it in the end.
Overall 984/5813
Males 731/3246
AG 120/581
What would you do differently?:

Easier for the first 3 miles keep drinking when its hot.
Post race
Warm down:

Walked to the family area and stretched a little then walked around more.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

The heat and humidity. 64 and 90% at the start 73 and 80%ish by finish time.

Event comments:

Again the course is long. 26.5 on my watch 27 on a friends watch. Difficult to hit a goal when you have to run an extra .3 or more. Not enough re stocking of the porta johns at the start or finish. Not a good thing when nature calls and there is no paper. Not satisfactory!
