Run
Comments: I ran really well the first six miles. Then my knee and hip started bothering me and I started a run/walk alternation which included more walking than running. What would you do differently?: Train to run a half marathon. Post race
Warm down: I couldn't get out of the finishers area to move around. For some reason at the food tent everything stopped. At that point my legs started cramping. Event comments: Overall this was an okay race. In terms of organization, Big Sur does a much better job. There needs to be better instructions for first time racers (i.e. walkers stay to the right). But...the firefighters and little blue boxes completely make up for it in the end! Last updated: 2009-04-04 12:00 AM

Buffy and I woke up and I had my usual morning shake. We were staying in the Sunset, so sat on Geary for a bit waiting for a cab. Sorry, MUNI just wasn't gonna do it for me.
We got to Union Square just in time to drop our bags on the bus. (Most unorganized system EVER). Then stood in Union Square feeling totally claustrophobic and trying not to hyperventilate until 7am. Next year I'm starting with the 6:00 minute pace group. Starting with my normal pace group, I was crawling through a sea of people.
