Swim
Comments: Got my goggles partly kicked off at 1/2 point, so sighting went from bad to worse. I think the course was short, because there is simply no way I swam this pace. What would you do differently?: Practice sighting into the sun Transition 1
Comments: Wow, you'd think I pitched a tent in transition! Need to find some free speed here. What would you do differently?: A lot. Suit off quicker, and just practice getting efficient with T1. I think this is getting slower. Bike
Comments: Legs flooded with lactic acid in the first couple miles, so it took forever to find a good pace. This ride was oddly tough. I don't know why. Maybe my cadence was too low? This is fast for me, but I think I could have done better given my training lately. Transition 2
Comments: Much smoother than T1. I could shave some time unclipping the buckles on my shoes before dismounting. That seems to be a constant hang up for me. Run
Comments: It got toasty out there! Nice to see the sun, and the crowds were great. I definitely needed to take more water on the bike, and the one drink stop was a bit late in the run for me. Just couldn't get my legs to turn over like I wanted, which is probably a combination of the heat and the dehydration. I would have liked to gone under 22:00. What would you do differently?: Drink more on the bike. I am beginning to think a bad run is the result of mistakes made on the bike. Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster: I think I've been inconsistent lately, so I need to clean up my routine going into the HIM season! Event comments: The organization leaves something to be desired, but I really like this race. The town and crowds are great, and it's laid back. I'll be back. Last updated: 2009-04-05 12:00 AM

Woke up at 5:30 and ate some toast with PB and had a cup of coffee. Sipped on some sports drink, and drove to the race (running a bit late)
No time for a warmup!
