Pre-race routine:

Didn't have one
Event warmup:

Small stretching. That's about it.
Swim
  • 06m 55s
  • 300 yards
  • 02m 19s / 100 yards
Comments:

Swam better than I thought
What would you do differently?:

Give a better seed time. Have become stronger swimmer than last time.
Transition 1
  • 04m 26s
Comments:

When I pinned on the number to my shirt, I didn't check the pinning. Had pinned completely through to the other side. Lost a couple of minutes fixing that.
What would you do differently?:

Make sure the number is affixed properly to the shirt
Bike
  • 40m 35s
  • 11.5 miles
  • 17.00 mile/hr
Comments:

I thought I had done pretty good until I saw the results. Felt like I was going good. I feel like I slowed down the last lap going up the small last hill on Robin Hood and lost time I shouldn't have.
What would you do differently?:

Push a little harder. Lots of old guys like me that are in real good shape.
Transition 2
  • 00m 47s
Comments:

Happy with this transition. Had a little trouble getting gloves off
What would you do differently?:

Nothing on this.
Run
  • 35m 20s
  • 3.11 miles
  • 11m 22s  min/mile
Comments:

Hurting real bad. Have a bad knee but the brace did it's job. Calves were cramping up and left achille's tendon was inflamed or something. I can hardly walk on it today (day after race). Was not tired, just could not run, hence the time it took.
What would you do differently?:

Be 20 years younger with a body that would hold up. Have been to foot doctor who says he can't help me with the tendon thing. Have been doing only non-impact eliptical training. Anybody have any ideas?
Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster:

Bad achille's and minor cramping. Lost time in the pool trying to pass and lost time in the first transition.

Event comments:

Believe that, if possible, to have a one loop bike portion. I noticed numbers that started behind me and didn't pass me were almost through the run before I got back from the second loop.
