Swim
Comments: I really enjoyed the swim. I started mid-pack and was passing people right off the start. I should start more towards the front next time. I swam a little breast stroke just to take it all in about half way down. I didn't want to kill myself and I was basically just happy and having fun! What would you do differently?: Will try much harder next time. Transition 1
Comments: I ran to the T area, dried off my feet, put on socks, shoes, my helmet, and got moving. I'd love to just grab the bike and go but I don't think my shoes lend themselves to being put on while riding. I'll see what I can do though!I mostly wanted to just not screw up. What would you do differently?: Hoping to be able to ride and put on shoes at the same time. Bike
Comments: I rode this pretty hard, but I could of pushed more. I was mostly just trying to keep a decent pace as I had no idea what to expect for the run. I think I was taking it a little to easy though as my brother caught me and we both sprinted the last mile. Getting a new bike will help a bunch. I think my oversized 1994 trek may need to go. What would you do differently?: Push harder! Transition 2
Comments: All I had to do was rack the bike, put on my number and slap on my shoes. Went pretty well I think. I guess I can try taking my shoes off while on the bike next time. What would you do differently?: Maybe try ditching the bike shoes before getting off the bike? Run
Comments: I really babied it going up the hill. My only rule was to not walk so I'm very surprised with my time actually. Running was going to be my worst part so I just wanted to be careful. What would you do differently?: Train for the run more. I'd love to be able to rock that hill as just about everyone has to walk up it. Post race
Warm down: Smiled and drank water. What limited your ability to perform faster: I was mostly just be cautious. It was my first race and I didn't know what to expect. I've very excited about doing this next time as I'll actually race the thing. Event comments: I really, really liked this race. Haven't done any other, but I thought it was very well ran and I loved biking on all the closed down roads. I said thanks to each cop I passed. Last updated: 2009-04-06 12:00 AM

This was the fist one that my friend and brother had ever done. So we basically headed down into chaska and wondered around looking like idiots. We also started by making our transition area huge and slowly watched it shrink to the width of our bikes. Seemed like the thing to do though!
Just jogged a little. I would probably do more warming up for the swim next time.
