Very short ride, arrived early to register. Very small turnout.
Event warmup:

Stretched, swam 150 yards.
Swim
  • 07m 42s
  • 500 yards
  • 01m 32s / 100 yards
Comments:

I was one of the first 5 or six people out of the water, judging by who was on the course and in transition. The swim felt good, I was doing allot of drafting up until I got cut off twice by stray swimmers, weird it threw off my timing and stroke. My kick was strong and I really like using a two beet kick. Again the swim distance was way off this year, Im only making the comment for others that may do this race, I like a long swim. No swim splits on the results page, I didnt use my stopwatch either.
What would you do differently?:

Swim felt good despite the lack of training. People were all over the course, worse sighting I have ever witnessed.
Transition 1
  • 00m
Comments:

I felt my lack of fitness here despite kicking hard the last 50m my legs felt like logs.
What would you do differently?:

Train.
Bike
  • 00m
  • 16 miles
  • 0.00 mile/hr
Comments:

I didnt realize there were this many hills, my lack of conditioning made them seem difficult, for the last half anyway. I got passed by maybe 12 people, not a good sign as I wasn't able to pass anyone. I would catch up on the downhills, not enough mojo to pass though. No bike split either.
What would you do differently?:

Work on my fitness and pacing.
Transition 2
  • 00m
Comments:

I nailed this, I would say in about 30 seconds, I had my feet out of the shoes the last half mile and made a straight line to my spot. I slipped my Zoots on, turned around and left, My number and hat I put on as I made it out the exit.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing.
Run
  • 00m
  • 3.2 miles
  •  min/mile
Comments:

I took it easy comming out of transition, I just kept it going. The first aid station was at the half mile mark, water only.I took one cup and moved on,after another half mile my legs gave up. I now started survival mode, and I soon realized the only aid station was the one I just went through. It got over 90 degrees and I just couldnt hold it together, I kept praying for some gatorade, no such luck!I had no strength in my legs and now I was overheating, badly.
What would you do differently?:

Bring my own drink from now on, you just assume with crazy high entry fees you will be taken care of, not! I just wanted to enjoy the race, I did up until the run, however this has been my weakness all year and my lack of training almost caused me to DNF a sprint, close call and lesson learned.

Event comments:

Last time I do this race, I was silent last year because it was the first year for this race.It made a bad race even worse, here is what I told the race director:
Partking area was not clearly identified or were there any parking directors.
Older, heavy set Blonde woman made two comments to me, one was rude, the other was offensive.
Again for the second year, all distances were very inaccurate.
Only one aid station during the run course was dangerous and extremely frugal.
No ice or gatorade were available on the course as the tempatures climbed to the 90's.
Volunteers were not clearly identified.
I had to ask spectators which way to turn on the run course.
No directions were givin for the after race Barbecue.
Exteremely unorganized Barbecue,100 people waiting as tempatures reached 100 degrees with only one person cooking was awful.

I threw my Barbecue ticket in the garbage and drove home instead of waiting, even for a drink at the very least as the heat approached 100 degrees! Instead of pleading for a full refund, I can assure you that I will inform everyone in my triathlon club as well as online group to stay clear of this event. This race does not in any way warrant the race fee that you charge, or deserve reputation as a well run or fun race!

His response was he would weigh this with the six emails that thought the race was great.

I responded to please share with me why they thought it was great.

Honestly I could care less if they even have this race next year!
