![]() Run
Comments: very crowed but still done with all the Disney flair. Roads bottle necked at several places and caused me to lose my pace. So many walkers that walked in large groups that slowed me down and messed up pace. People stopped for photo opts with characters and that was fun to see, I did not stop running because it was so cold. It was the coldest Florida has seen since around 1928, and it sleeted for the first 3 miles. What would you do differently?: I should have pushed myself a little more at the end, I was just concerned that there might be more hills and I wanted to make sure i could get past them and next them I knew I turned a corner and saw the finish line, so after the tree at Epcot I would have given it all all had left. ![]() Post race
Warm down: So cold I was shivering. I should have put all new dry warm cloths in the bag so I could have changed after the race. such a long way back to the hotel and it was still freezing. If you can get race retreat tickets....GET THEM! the best money we ever spent, especially because of the weather. the race retreat had food, drinks, no line to the seperate bathrooms than the rest of the runners, it was just great! especially after the race! more food and computers so you could look up race results. What limited your ability to perform faster: areas of course that bottle necked ( a road that turns and is single lane and the castle) and sooooo many walkers! Event comments: Just too many walkers that get in the way. I would do this race again to have fun, but it was my first and I was really trying to do my best, I do feel I could have shaved at least 5 min off my time if not for all the walkers and the slowing down and dodging i had to contend with.
