Comments: I have a road bike without clip-on aerobars. with it's current set-up, I don't think I could have pushed my mph much higher. 20.5 mph represents a peak performance for me relative to my training. What would you do differently?: Alter training vs. tinkering with the bike vs. buying a tri bike. I'm frugal, so training will by my #1 focus to get faster. Transition 2
Run
Comments: Running is definitely where I could use the most improvement. I was training under a 7:00 mile pace when I injured my ITB in January. It took a full 10 weeks before I could run pain-free again. The 8:00 mile I ran for this tri felt a lot slower than it actually was, which is encouraging. What would you do differently?: More lower extremity weight training. Also, don't push the miles or the pace too quickly when training for the next race to avoid injury Post race
