Comments: We had 4 people in my lane. I started out in the lead but lapped everyone by about lap 5. Maybe next time I'll get into a little fast group. ![]() Transition 1
Comments: This transition was very slow due to the weather being so cold and having to put on several layers. What would you do differently?: Need to find a way to dry off a little better so my shirt doesn't stick so much and I can stay a little warmer on these cold days. ![]() Bike
Comments: A pretty nice out and back, but the wind was terrible. Coming back we had about a 25 knot headwind. I think I could have run faster! What would you do differently?: NEED TO GET ON MY BIKE MORE!!! I just don't have the strength to fight the wind. ![]() Transition 2
Comments: Nice fast transition... couldn't feel my feet and trying to put my running shoes on was a challange. ![]() Run
Comments: I felt really strong on the run, which makes sense sice I've been training for Fargo. ![]() Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster: My bike is definitely a weakness. Event comments: Chip timing would be great. A couple minutes before each swim wave would be much better than starting almost immediately after the previous heat finishes. And mile markers on the run would help pacing a lot. Overall well organized and fun for a small race. Last updated: 2009-04-14 12:00 AM

Had a 1.4 hour drive to get there in the morning. Once I got there I just tried to stay warm, think through my transitions, and relax. Had planty of water and a Gu about 30 minutes before the start.
I ran a few relaxed sprints, did some jumping jacks, and stretched.
