went to the bathroom, stretched a little, ran to my truck because i forgot something, and talked with some other competitors.

didn't expect it to be a trail run so i wasn't used to it. My mile times were good though so i'm happy with it.

run more trails!

I just don't have the leg strength that some of these other competitors have. also my hamstrings started cramping up on the way back from the turn-around. but i did ok, i just need to get stronger leg muscles for future events.
What would you do differently?:

ride in easier gears, don't push to hard so often.

this second run was hard, i have a hard time transitioning my legs from the bike to the run. But i ended well.

Warm down:

stretched a little bit and got some of the free food. nothing big, no cool down run or anything.

a good race, it was tough and i liked it that way, i just need to be more prepared. i will be trying it next year though that's for sure.

Course: course wasn't what i was expecting. started off on the bike and rode a mile or so, then took a right and went up bogus hill. It felt like a good 3 or 4 mile incline. turned around and went back down the hill and followed hill road which was fairly easy the rest of the way. Got to the end and turned around and headed back, there was a headwind the whole way back. a good solid course though.
