Comments:

the water was cooold! My body was in shock for the first several minutes, but quickly warmed up. Got elbowed in the eye right off the bat, but other than that no other problems. This was my best swim yet. Sited well, got into a groove. I love swimming in the ocean :)
What would you do differently?:

nothing.
Transition 1
  • 00m
Comments:

We had to run along the beach boardwalk then up a big wooden staircase to T1. Don't know what my time was, not calculated on the results page. Alittle slow. alot of sand on my feet from the beach. I put shoes on to run up the stairs - thought I might get a splinter.
What would you do differently?:

Not put on shoes, run barefooted. not wear socks to cycle in. use a water bottle to squirt the sand off my feet.
Bike
  • 58m 37s
  • 11 miles
  • 11.26 mile/hr
Comments:

I timed myself at 52.36 minutes, so I don't know why the discrepency. Anyway, it was a good course, hilly, but I like hills. the roads are in terrible shape, rough. the course was very well managed, CHP at every turn holding traffic for us. Lots of volunteers which made it easy to know where to go with all the turns.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing
Transition 2
  • 00m
Comments:

Moved through T2 pretty fast, again the times were not calculated.
What would you do differently?:

nothing
Run
  • 33m 16s
  • 2.5 miles
  • 13m 19s  min/mile
Comments:

This was a great run, although I went slower than I thought I did!
What would you do differently?:

Maybe go alittle faster??
Post race
Warm down:

stretched alittle, drank water, ate part of a luna bar. cheered Jill in.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

I just need to push myself alittle more on the run.

Event comments:

This was a fantastic race, great volunteers, great support. I will definitely do this again next year.
