Run
Comments: Very congested start, on a narrow street. Ran on sidewalk for first hundred yards with other; hurdled a couple people on sidewalk. Did a personal best, shaving 29 seconds off prior 5k time. What would you do differently?: Not hurdle those bystanders, as it then took me some time to recover and get back into normal run rhythm. Post race
Warm down: walk, stretch. eat fruit. What limited your ability to perform faster: Congestion at front of race pack caused me to waste energy. Need to find a better way to get into my race rhythm. Event comments: Request that people stage themselves; or organizers encourage better positioning. Amazing that in the first couple hundred yards I was passing walkers -- what the heck were they doing at the front of the starting pack? Last updated: 2009-04-16 12:00 AM
