Swim
Comments: Longest OW swim ever. I felt good about it though. I finally got over my fears and just swam like I was in the pool. I got slightly off course a few times because of the current but overall I felt good. It might not have been the fastest swim, but it felt good and thats what matters. What would you do differently?: More speed work and practice longer distances at faster speeds. Transition 1
Comments: A little slow here, but nothing terrible. Legs felt wobbly and it was hard to make myself move faster. What would you do differently?: Nothing. I'm still learning how best to set up my transitions to make them faster. Bike
Comments: I liked the bike part. The road was a little rough with potholes and stuff, but beyond that it was good. It was hard not to draft, but I think I was okay at not drafting. What would you do differently?: Just practice racing up hills more. Transition 2
Comments: Good transition. Had a bug fly in my shirt and sting me a bunch right before the end so I was freaking out & not spinning right. but otherwise, it was good. What would you do differently?: Spin more and calm down. I was too hyper and not thinking clearly. Run
Comments: This was a hard run. I wish they'd had gatorade on the run instead of just water. I started out well, but was just exhausted by the end. What would you do differently?: Find out if there's gatorade on the course and if not bring my own. Also train longer distances so the 10K of the race doesnt seem so hard. I didnt do enough really long runs before this race and I just wasn't ready for this. Post race
Warm down: Walked around, had a banana, and a beer :) What limited your ability to perform faster: Training. I wasnt ready for an oly distance but wanted to try it anyways. Now I know what to expect for next time and can train better for it. Event comments: This is a good race.
