Pre-race routine:

Woke up 4:10. Rode mountain bike around for 10 or 15 minutes (road bike impounded in transition night before). When arrived at race, dirt parking lot full. Made it into pay lot which was filling up quickly. Rushed to transition to get set up.
Event warmup:

Didn't arrive early enough to do a good warm up. Did a quick 3 or 4 minute jog and suited up for swim. Swam out to start pretty much cold.

Lots of contact through first 1/3rd of course.
What would you do differently?:

warm up. Sleeveless wetsuit would have been optimal for this water temp.

Comments:

Seems like it takes 2 miles before really comfortable in run. Makes me continue to think about getting a tri specific bike to help go into runs fresher.
What would you do differently?:

Continue to focus on run training. Feel like I'm progressing overall as running is still relatively new for me. Can do long distances now and beginning to focus on speed work. Feel confident about improving this area with continued effort.
