Run
Comments: Kept it pretty easy today, since I was staying with my wife. My HR just after I finished was about 120, even after sprinting, so overall, pretty easy. Some really good hills in this one though; not too steep, but freaking long! Right knee hurt a bit during the middle of the race, but I think that was due partially to the fact that we ran at least a mile on the side of a road which sloped down on each side, meaning we were running perpendicular to an uneven road. That was really annoying. Post race
Warm down: Ate some locally-made bread and doughnut holes! What limited your ability to perform faster: Was staying with wife. She was in pain from a few things, so we ran a bit slower than we do in practice. But, I'm super proud of her for pushing through the pain--I could see on her face that she was in pain the whole time. Poor girl. Event comments: Good race, lots of stuff afterwords. Woke up at 6:15. Had a banana and whole grain pop-tart. At 7, I had a protein shake with milk and a cup of coffee, then showered. Its raining today, so that stinks.
Um, sat in car until race started? It was rainy. Drank some more coffee. Was pretty gittery to be on a (relatively) empty stomach drinking coffee.
