Overall Rank = 47/52
Age Group = CLYDESDALE
Age Group Rank = 4/5
Pre-race routine:

A good breakfast of an apple some toast with a little PB on it, a hammer gel right before the run.
Event warmup:

No real time to warm up, just got to the venue and listened to pre-race, then stretch a little then off!
Swim
  • 09m 41s
  • 400 yards
  • 02m 25s / 100 yards
Comments:

The swim felt pretty good, a little wore down on the last hundred or so. This can very well be a good event for me with a little more training.
What would you do differently?:

Train a little better towards the end, I kind of gave up on training about a month out, more like life happened!
Transition 1
  • 01m 51s
Comments:

Not really applicable since T1 for me was from run to bike. A pretty smooth transition all in all.
Bike
  • 47m 10s
  • 10 miles
  • 12.72 mile/hr
Comments:

The bike went pretty well considering that I was on my mountain bike. I really feel like I pushed it super hard. I am looking forward to getting a better bike sometime!
What would you do differently?:

Train a little harder on the bicycle.
Transition 2
  • 01m 41s
Comments:

Again, from bike to swim so this is a little skewed.
What would you do differently?:

I had a little trouble getting the shirt and bike shoes off, but again, all in all for the first time, I think it went pretty well!
Run
  • 36m 55s
  • 3.62 miles
  • 10m 12s  min/mile
Comments:

The best run I have had to date! I was hoping to finish it in under 40 min, and to do it in under 37 was great for me!
What would you do differently?:

I think I can run faster than I did, I am going to try to train at a ten minute pace, and see what happens, I think I can run 8 minute miles before the summer is over!
Post race
Warm down:

A good walk, static stretch, and a good meal with my family.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

A little bit of falling off at the end of the training period.

Event comments:

An awesome first triathlon. The organization was top notch and the staff/volunteers were great! What a great time. I am certainly hooked, and I can see where I need the most help. I had a wonderful time, and look forward to getting a lot better!
