Comments: I started out at the front of the runners. It was neat to see the motorcycle and the leaders so close. But that quickly changed. started out way to fast. 7:50s and slowed down around mile 1. Got in a groove after mile 2 but by that time, it was time to finish. Oh well. I evened out at 9s. What would you do differently?: I had my pasta and water the night before...but I really felt like I wasnt hydrated. Post race
Warm down: I walked the activites are. Lots of stuff to see. Then I sat on the curb and watched the 10 milers come in. What limited your ability to perform faster: I am sure it doesn help that i played two softball games yesterday. They put me in as catcher for 2 hours so the up and down squats for 2 hours wasn't the best the day before a run. Event comments: Great race. Very well put on. LOTS of volunteers! Woke up at 545 and got ready. Had a bagel and OJ and grabbed my H2O and headed to Old Town. It was hard to park so I found a place off Washington Blvd and walked to the bus pick up. I was at the starting point WAY early. But I guess that is OK. The bathroom lines were hurendous.
There was a workout instructor there who had everyone gather around as we did jumping jacks, squats, and marching. It was a nice little warm up and everyone was participating so it was very cool!
