Comments:

20/109 overall 14/40 all males 5/8 age group males 2/2 I love the fact they somehow missed my age so I am in the male no age group but still could not win it!!!

Started off a bit slowly as I was caught in the bunched starting pack. The first 2 miles were at 18:30 clip which is a bit slow but then people dispersed so there was more room to run. So got going around the 2 1/2 mile mark as the 5K people were finishing. The race was run with 5K, 10K and half marathon all together. Passed a lot of people after mile 3 but only had 1 person pass me around mile 9/10 (young punk kid running in a red polo shirt- what a dork)
Was kind of confused about the course through miles 5-8 as I passed Abs a couple of times (and hi-fived it) as the loops criss-crossed with other sections of the course so you got to pass and see people in front and behind you all the time. I thought I missed a loop as people ahead of me ran an extra loop but I kind of felt by my timing that I was right. Then after a few minutes I thought I would have to dq myself since I missed a loop, so I did not really push it at that point and treated it as more of a training run than a race (big dummy). I am sure I could have gotten closer to my pr (1:49) and maybe even beat it but mentally I though I might have not run the full course. As I got to around mile 11 I knew I was right and that some people ran an extra mile or 2. Unfortunately at this point the head/side wind was really strong and I did not have too much left in the tank to push it harder. So still going at the 8:15 clip was fine for the last 2 miles. For nutrition had some water and gatorade on the course at miles 5 & 9 (I think) and had 1 strawberry/banana GU gel. Should of probably had a bit more water & another gel to keep up a bit more energy toward the finish. Felt good at the finish (no aches or pains) and overall felt ok with the race.
What would you do differently?:

Make sure I know the exact course and know where the aid stations will be, maybe add another gel and a bit more water. Also never mentally treat a race as a training run.
Post race
Warm down:

Picked up goody bag & shirt. Then picked up a few GU2O freebie samples and water bottles. Greeted Abs at the finish (she did great) and then had a few Krispy Kremes at the finish.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Not knowing if I ran the full course or not. Kind of confusing at the loop sections. Crowded with all the 5K & 10K runners.

Event comments:

First time they held this race so there were a few bugs but overall the course is really nice, and a bit of a challenge but not too hard either. The director and volunteers were all really nice & I would recommend this to everyone.
