Run
Comments: My hip started to hurt around km 10. I was worried this would happen, and just tried my best to not think about it, but be mindful of how I was running so as not to aggravate it. Stepped funny a couple times and had mjor shooting pain in my hip. Then it was just a matter of survival to get through the last few km, and still try to beat my goal time. Had the most amazing tunes, which helped a lot. First half was good, but went out maybe a little too fast, and would have preferred to run those lap splits in the opposite order. Weather co-operated which was huge, but I lost a glove. :( What would you do differently?: Get my hip figured out, and do a proper warm-up. Post race
Warm down: no warm down really... was so sore, wanted a massage, but Catherine had my key and I didn't see her for a good half hour after I'd finished. Ate a cookie, had an apple juice, did some stretching. Chatted with friends. Came home and used my trigger point ball in my butt. What limited your ability to perform faster: My stupid hip. I think as a result, my right hammy was starting to show signs of cramping as well. Left hip, damn hip! Event comments: Second year in a row doing this one, last year I forgot my timing chip. Felt much more prepared for this race, but had forgotten that my hip might give me issues, until it reared its ugly head. Happy with the race, although I think if my hip hadn't hurt, I could have shaved off a minute or two total. :( Last updated: 2009-04-26 12:00 AM

Woke up around 6:20. MAde Black tea misto, and omlette with mushroom, pepper, zucchini and feta. Drank shots of water througout.
Picked up Catherine and Allan a little late, oops!
Ran for a total of about 5min, did some drills speed-ups and when in line to pee, did some core exercises.
