Swim
Comments: For me, the Swimming portion is all about survival. Literally. Surviving...not drowning. What would you do differently?: Swim faster, smoother and breath easier. Invest in a Tri-top and not a cycling top. It felt like a parachute filled with sand. Transition 1
Comments: Vomit. This transition time was the WORST! I completely forgot where I placed everything. No order. It was as if I hired a 2 year old to set up my transition area and then told him if he really made it difficult, then I would reward him with Ring Pops and gummy bears. What would you do differently?: Not hire the 2 year old. Bike
Comments: Made up some time on the bike. Probably would have been better if I could have removed my parachute I like to call a fat ass! Biking is my strong suit...but not like a custom fitted suit from italy, but more like a tuxedo t-shirt. What would you do differently?: Become more aerodynamic...aka drop about 20. Transition 2
Comments: Better than T1, but when you pass your transition area 2 TIMES...it's going to make for a long run. Once again, the imaginary 2 year old screwed me by placing my stuff with no identifiable markers. Thanks little buddy. What would you do differently?: Stop trying to run in cleats. I looked like a ballerina in tights prancing through the transition area. Kill me. Run
Comments: Run was brutal. My knees felt like Forrest Gumps..WITH the braces. I wanted to just be done at this point. Everytime someone would cheer, I would flip them off in my head...but still smile. What would you do differently?: Run more....I guess. Post race
Warm down: Laying down, eating bananas, and coming close to vomitting at the taste of that Vitamin Water. What limited your ability to perform faster: LB's. I need to drop about 20...then I won't feel like I'm carrying a small child on my back. Event comments: It was good to be out doing something on the weekend besides drinking beer and beating the kids....not mine, my brothers. I enjoyed the people I met. Even if they didn't talk back to me during conversation. Seriously though, it was fun, and I'm looking forward to the Texas Man. Last updated: 2009-04-27 12:00 AM

Kept making jokes with friends to keep a light mood, because I knew if I concentrated too much on the swim that I would vomit on myself. I was not ready for this.
Stared at the water...wondering if this was the largest venue with people in tights at one time.
