Pre-race routine:

bagel at 5AM and Diet Coke.
Event warmup:

Nothing special, we took the motorcycle to the race, waited for the bus, looked for Kleeman, figured heat would keep me slow so planned for slow.

Comments:

I took splits but didn't look at them often, all were in the 8:10 ball park, with two miles much faster (one downhill and the last one), and two miles much slower (the first mile and the uphill). I felt better than I have in a long time.
What would you do differently?:

I didn't really think today would be a good day so I didnt' run as hard as I could have, but it turns out I was only 18 seconds off of a PR on this course. I run this race every year, but never really race it, so PR should come easy. Its always been part of a training plan-so run marathon pace, or run a tempo run, or add 7 on and make it along run (that wasn't a fun year).

They do a nice job getting 4000+ runners to the start on time, I'm alwasy impressed with this!
