Comments: Comfortable for the first 100 yrds or so, then realized I wasn't even close to the bouy and was getting exhausted. Panic set in. Started on the backstroke. What would you do differently?: Train, Train, Train. I need a lot more open water training. Transition 1

Comments: Quick in and out. Dropped of the helmet and bike, grabbed a shot of Gaterade and started the run. Run
Comments: Started strong, but the first downhill started hurting my knee, so I tended to walk or lightly job all of the other downhills. Post race
Warm down: Light stretch. Ate a spicy sausage. (thanks Sam) What limited your ability to perform faster: Open water swim. Cross country run. Got up at 5. At a bowl of Banana Nut Bran with 2% milk and had a banana. Loaded the gear, woke up the family and hit the road.
Basic stretches. Swam 50 yrds or so.
