Swim
Comments: I was worried about only having a 10 second gap between swimmers. I did back off my previous swim time from Riverwood, and that seemed to help. I only got passed by one swimmer, and actually passed one. I felt really good in the water, much better than before. I thought I had done a lot better than 8:33, but I am not upset. When I got out of the pool, I was not tired, and was pleased. What would you do differently?: I just need more time in the water. This was only the third time in the water since Riverwood, and the increase in time is something I thought would happen. In the three weeks since Riverwood, I concentrated more on the run, so I just need more pool time to better my times in this event. Transition 1
Comments: I had a good T1. I was not nearly as exhausted as the last time. I liked that the transition area was so close to the pool. Bike
Comments: Very hilly course. Nice countryside, but there were many hills and turns that so I really could not take in the area as I would have liked. The hills really wore me out, I could not have done much better. Nice weather and lack of traffic really helped. Transition 2
Comments: Good T2 time. One mistake cost me a few seconds as I started out the wrong way towards the bike course. What would you do differently?: Walk through the transition areas before I start the race and understand the flow. Run
Comments: I had a goal in mind for this 5K. I did not want to stop running, and would allow myself to walk through the water station, and then start running again. I thought there would be two or three water stations, so I prepared for that. When I started running, I looked and looked for a water station, only to find one about the 1.75 mile mark. And that turned out to be the only water station. I wish they would have more, because I knew I needed some water bad. I started getting a headache during the bike portion, and needed to re-hydrate. The course was nice with a few challenging hills, but hopefully next year there will be more water. I am weakest in the run, and I am giving up a lot of time here. Still, I did better my time from Riverwood, and hopefully I will have more improvements to come. What would you do differently?: I just need to keep on running. Post race
Warm down: Breathe in - Breathe out - A lot! What limited your ability to perform faster: Lets see: Lack of conditioning and being overweight. That pretty much covers it. Event comments: For my second tri, I thought I did pretty good. I am please with my progress and hope to do a few more this season. Last updated: 2009-04-29 12:00 AM

Woke up at 3am, Started trip at 4am, Arrived at 6:45am. Walked around the site and learned about the transition area.
This took place at the YMCA, and they had a basketball court, and some basketballs outside. I shot some hoops for about 25 minutes to get my heart rate up, then I took advantage of the warm up pool and did a few laps.
