Swim
Comments: Got in behind a few people off and on in the blender. Was able to save a lot of energy. What would you do differently?: Find the right person and sit on them till they can help no more :) Transition 1
Comments: A very steep climb right out of the water and a good distance run to the transition. Had to go through the entire transition area to get to my bike, which was good because I was right by the exit. What would you do differently?: consider rinsing my feet better before puttng on my shoes Bike
Comments: Because I will be doing Hyannis in 2 weeks I did not want to push to hard. Plus this was a learning race to see if I can get my run beter by backing off the bike just a little. Did not charge every hill, just the ones with the biggest rewards. What would you do differently?: Work my off season to build better strenght for climbing. Do not use body glide on my forarms. They kept comming off the pads till I wiped them clean. Did I mention I was using a sleeveless suit and had no need to use body glide on my arms. Transition 2
Comments: got in and out of transition smooth, just a little trouble with the sox, but I am not ready to run with out them What would you do differently?: Nada Run
Comments: splits: 9.48 9.43 9.57 10.18 10.29 11.04...not worried about the jump on the last split, had the only real climb. Feet a little tender, but not bad. Gave a good effort, but not an insain one. Very proud not to walk again. Kept waiting for May (wave 6?) and Max (wave 5?) to catch me on the run. What would you do differently?: train harder, particularly with some bricks. Post race
Warm down: cold sponge, water and a gatorade. There was a post event BBQ, but I did not eat real food for about an hour. Went to watch May (she just needed a little more kick to beat Max, yelled for her as best I could), Max and Joanne finish. Bumped into the rest of the BT croud at the tent. What limited your ability to perform faster: training Event comments: Ok, this was a great event. The best part was the social wit the BT crowd. We jelled like we have been getting together for ever. I did not want it to end. Not to take away from the greatness of the BT stuff, but my finish was an amazing event all by it's self. I had forgoten to set my stop watch at the begging of the race so I was clueless as to how my time was till I saw the finsh clock. The only time I used my SW was to get splits on the runs. I saw the sub 2:37 amd change on the clock I pumped my fists. When I stopped my HRM it read 3:08. I had to ask if the finish clock was right and bassed off the first wave, for I started in the second. The finish clock was of course right. I meandered over to the finish shoot to cheer on as many BTers as I could. Then it hit me, I held back and shattered my PR on an Oly by 15 miniutes on a simular course. I took a knee and cried tears of joy. Could not stop for about 2 minutes. Got up just in time to hear Max's name get called. It finaly dawned on me that I stayed ahead of May and Max with the head start. I had asked for a handycabp ad did not need one. Last updated: 2005-07-25 12:00 AM

Lousy night sleep the first half. Got up sleep walking and woke my team mate from trifury :( Dinner was repeating. Finally got to a sound sleep around 1 AM. Woke up latter than planned at 5:45. Was already packed. Threw the stuff in the car and had a continental breakfast at the hotel. 2 bowls of oatmeal and 2 bannanas.
Drove to the race site and went to get a start setting up transition. Found May right away. Soon to follow was Max. We pitched my tent and set up signs. May brought her BT shirt on a banner stand to help ID us. Took so long gas bagging, I did not realy get a chance to warm up. I would not have done it any different.
Just got set up, nothing fancy.
