Swim
Comments: yikes....and i thought the swim portion of the sprint was tough! Obviously i need to train more. Still glad i tackled this, though. Was totally freaking out standing on the beach and looking at all those buoys. At the end was also this crazy 200m uphill run to T1. Not fun. :) What would you do differently?: Need to learn how to swim! Transition 1
Bike
Comments: Again, it's early on and i need more experience and to put in the miles. Felt absolutely wiped out after the swim, but tried to do my best. Transition 2
Run
Comments: Get out of T2, and initially legs felt like jelly. Wish they had stayed that way, b/c i then felt each quad and each hamstring quickly cramp up. woops! i used mile 2 to get the cramps out, then turned it up. Wish i had kept track with a watch, but definitely felt like i negative split the latter half of the 10K. Post race
Event comments: OBVIOUSLY i got my ass kicked, but still really glad i did the race. Was curious to try out an Oly and get my feet wet in it. My lack of swimming and biking experience was more evident on this much tougher course than it was on the mossman tri, where i was able to push through. It's all good, though. I need a good kick in the ass to motivate me through the off-season. Now i'm gonna focus on my AIDS ride in september, and i'm totally inspired to do the Hartford marathon in October.
