Swim
Comments: What a mess, I was swimming to the wrong buoy, following somebody which I won't do again! The boat had to drive out and tell us to change directions, then a 90 degree turn. But I still had the fastest swim in my age group despite the extra yardage! What would you do differently?: Not follow anyone. I do fine spotting the buoys myself. Also, check the buoys out better before leaving shore. Transition 1
What would you do differently?: Maybe put on fewer clothes. I could have made up some time here since my age group was really close in time. Bike
Comments: I stayed in the big wheel the whole time and felt like I was hammering. It was MUCH faster than my last time. Having a computer on the bike really helps me do better because I can see how fast I am going or not going. What would you do differently?: Watch the turns and practice clipping out. I get freaked out and forget how to dismount. Transition 2
Comments: Wow, this was a great transition and I didn't even realize it. I earned 22 seconds better than all in my group. Run
Comments: I thought I was going so much faster than this. I guess since my bike was so strong, I was tired for run. I really want to pick up the running pace from now on but I think I need to practice fast running or it won't happen. What would you do differently?: Practice running faster. Don't walk so much Post race
Warm down: None, I felt really, really good after this tri. Event comments: a PR so it was best for me! I actually had trained enough to do this without too much strain. It was a lot of fun, versus my first where I was simply trying to finish. My goal was 1:40; my dream was 1:30 and I finished in 1:28:36!!! I guess I didn't calculate that very well. But also I've improved a lot of the bike since the first tri. Running wasn't any better; in fact it was slightly slower. Last updated: 2009-05-01 12:00 AM
