Run
Comments: Decided upon a fairly aggresive feeding schdule for the race of 1 gel per 20 minutes for teh first two hours and then a gel every 30 minutes. alternated between water and Gatoraide at aid stations. What would you do differently?: Bring asprin or advil for the knee pains late in the course. Use shoe that have been adequately broken in for a 42Km run. Only have about 55Km on these shoes. Blister tarted to form early in the race and became very painful by the 30-32 Km mark. Post race
Warm down: Some stretching, eat, walk to car. Later in the evening, hot tub and stretching What limited your ability to perform faster: At about the 27/28Km marker the course weaved in and out of the wind as well as some rolling hills. Very challenging. A blister built up on both feet by the 32 Km mark and the pain was horibble cause me to change my stride and my legs became weak very quickly. Legs became very sore at about 34KM marker, possibly take advil or asprin for next long distance event. Event comments: Was hoping for a 3:45 at best. Finished 45 econds under that so I am very happy. Crowd support was awesome. Last updated: 2009-05-01 12:00 AM
