Comments: This could not have gone any better. There was 1 row of people in front of me on the best line at the start and everyone else went wide. 1st bouy was 100 yards out so I drafted them all the way to the bouy. I don't think I was ever off the line and passed the course bouys within 1 foot. Got out of the water and was barely warmed up. Transition 1
Comments: Had some problems getting into my bike shoes. Saw one guy with a shoe horn and another guy brought his stuff in a plastic tote he could sit on. Food for thought. Bike
Comments: I'm a terrible cyclist. There isn't anything I'm doing well. What would you do differently?: I need to start riding with a cycling group once a week to develop my skills on the bike. Transition 2
Comments: Went pretty good. In and out of the shoes just fine. Took in some water. What would you do differently?: Not much Run
Comments: Flat course thorugh the park. Not a lot of pavement, easy on the joints. Stretched my hammies out on the bike so I was able to get running right away with no walking. Post race
Warm down: Water. A brat. What limited your ability to perform faster: I had a hockey tourney this weekend. Played two games on Friday night and split my elbow open. I didn't get to bed until 1:15a and was up 3 hours later. I hoped to get some pancakes at the IHOP down the street for breakfast, but that didn't happen. I also knew I had two more hockey games after the race so I held back a bit on the run. Event comments: Great race. Lots of really nice people. I was the first race of the year for a lot of folks.
