Pre-race routine:

Up early. Ate breakfast of protein shake, skim milk, and waffles. Drank some water and a 5 Hour Energy Drink.

Comments:

Felt good during most of the run. 1st mile was slow trying to dodge traffic. Finished mile 1 at 8:37. 2nd mile was quicked once I cleared traffic. Finished mile 2 at 16:07 (7:30). Last 3.1 had to push myself to keep my pace up. Finished last 1.1 miles at 24:01 (7:54).
What would you do differently?:

I would study the course a little better and pay more attention to teh mile markers. Never saw the 3 mile marker so I started my kick a little lake. Could have finshed under 24 but my goal for today was to break 25:00 so I was really happy.

Warm down:

Walked and drank some water.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Traffic slowed me down and the start but I realized it was so I helped me push myself to run hard and make up the time during the 2nd mile.

Event comments:

Fun race with lots of entertainment along the course and great finish area.
