Swim
Comments: Swim was real crowded and couldn't seem to get into rhythm at all. Rounded the first bouy and the 2nd leg was real choppy. Couldn't seem to get in rhythm but kept pushing along. don't think I could have pushed any harder though throughout the swim. My sighting could have been better, and probably lost a couple minutes because of it. I couldn't see a thing because of the waves and my goggles being foggy. Just followed the guys around me. What would you do differently?: Try to sight better. I think my time sucked because I don't focus enough on swimming though. Transition 1
Comments: Average transition. Didn't put a shirt on to save some time. Shoes went on easy and I clipped in easy. Got up to speed real quick. What would you do differently?: Move faster Bike
Comments: PR... really kicked butt on the bike. There were about 5 of us that were "pacing" each other (legally of course). We'd take turns passing each other, and the competition kept my pace up. I was surprised I was able to hang with these guys around 23mph. They ended up dropping me with about 3 miles to go, but otherwise we were all pushing each other. 4th in AG and top 6% overall... not bad. What would you do differently?: Pace my fluid intake. I drank all of my aero bottle in 40 mins. I did feel slightly dehydrated when I got off the bike, but nothing major. Transition 2
What would you do differently?: Didn't put on socks because I trained without them for so long. I got serious blisters because my feet were wet/sweaty. Maybe some powder would have helped. Run
Comments: Just couldn't get moving faster. I drank a lot of water starting out since my bottle ran out early on the bike. Took my infinit every mile or so, but couldn't get enough of it down. Drank a little water at each station. Just couldn't kick it in at the end like I wanted to. I could have jumped up 3-4 slots had I just picked up the pace by 10 secs each mile. What would you do differently?: Not sure... I had a PR on the bike, and I can't tell if that slowed me down. Probably would have been better to drink a little more on the bike. Powder in the shoes to avoid blisters. Post race
Event comments: I'll brake top 10 next year. Last updated: 2009-05-03 12:00 AM

Got up at 4:00. Drank coffee and ate a peanut butter and banana sandwich. Stomach was a little upset and was able to "relive" some of it. Had to use the restroom 2 more times before the race. Either nerves or just the spaghetti from last night.
