Swim
Comments: The water warmed up to a balmy 58 for race morning. I had a real hard time keeping my face in the water. Did not panic, but did have a hard time breathing. Someone told me there is a nerve in the tip of your nose that causes issues when it hits cold water. Good for my first OWS with other people around in my opinion. Swim a little far at times away from the markers, don't know if this slowed me down or not. What would you do differently?: Get a full length wet suit. Stay tighter on the corners. Transition 1
Comments: perfect for my first tri. Kept it simple anf fast. Ran with cycling shoes on. What would you do differently?: Nothing. Bike
Comments: I believe I could have gone faster, but I was scared of blowing up for the run. I passed a lot of people and was almost taken out by one guy, but overall not bad. I was blown away though when I saw the dead moose on the side of the course going back up to the Valley. I wonder what the car looked like that hit it. What would you do differently?: Push a little harder. Transition 2
Comments: Again, kept it simple and fast. Ran with cycling shoes on feet. What would you do differently?: Nothing. Run
Comments: Went as hard as I could, survival at this point. What would you do differently?: try and kill myself more. Post race
Event comments: Will go back next year. Last updated: 2009-05-04 12:00 AM

Woke up way too early because of nerves. I come the bike cycilng world where you show up early for races. I went down from the hotel about 1.5 hours early and was the first person into the transition area...for a good 20 minutes. I walked the area to know the entry and exit points for the layout.
Did not really warm up since I was just taking it all in, will change this at the next race. Talked with Bill Parry for a bit (another BT'er) and saw some other people I used to work with.
