Swim
Comments: Good swim, my plan was to go all out, not hold back. Sighted well, no problems getting around the buoys, a little crowded at the last turn where you caught up to the earlier wave. What would you do differently?: Draft. I could not find anyone to draft off of. Transition 1
Comments: No transition times for some reason, but I had a good one. Bike
Comments: I had a good bike, the transition times are included in the bike times, I think my average was closer to 22. There was a guy in my age group from the tri club that passed me so I wanted to keep him within sight on the bike, that helped push me on the bike. What would you do differently?: You can always go faster but I was pretty happy with my bike. Transition 2
What would you do differently?: Got out of my shoes too early on the bike, probably with a 1/2 mile to go, oops:) Run
Comments: I really wanted to be under 22 for the run, the mile markers were way off but I had run the course before so I had mine picked out. I ran pretty even splits, just did not have any more speed. At the turn around I was in front of a few people that I wanted to beat so I just concentrated on not slowing for the last part of the run. What would you do differently?: Run faster Post race
Warm down: Jumped in the lake, it felt great! What limited your ability to perform faster: This was pretty much it for me, I was 18 seconds off of 3rd place which I'm sure I could have picked up somewhere. Event comments: I love this weekend, we went up on Friday, worked the race on Saturday and race on Sunday. Beautiful venue, great weather, what more could you ask for. Got up at 5:45, ate a pb sandwich, had some coffee and gatorade. Racked my bike, picked up chip and got body marked.
Ran part of the run course to get my mile markers, was going to ride but ran out of time. Swam a few sprints before my wave started.
