Swim
Comments: Had a great swim, 3rd overall I think. They were starting folks one every 20 seconds, so we were quite spread out. I managed to pass about 6 people on the swim. 3 of those were all on one wall, just sort of loitering. I didn't stick around to ask why. Anyway, I booked it into T1 and had a great T1. What would you do differently?: Swim 17s faster and get first out prize. :) Transition 1
Bike
Comments: I had a good ride, I knew that 19-year old Spencer was gunning for me in this race. I knew he'd beat me, but I really wanted him NOT to pass me on the bike. I could see him gaining on each loop. I dropped the hammer hard on the 3rd loop to hold him off. I'm glad I did. What would you do differently?: I messed up my hydration BAD on this one. For some reason I decided that instead of water in my aerobottle, like I normally run, I'd put double-strength-Cytomax, and bring no other bottles. Yeah, it was hot and this was a long bike course for a sprint. I was SO thirsty and all I had was HOT THICK sugar syrup. It was horrible I tell you. Horrible. I paid for this mistake on the run. Transition 2
Run
Comments: I was a hot mess on the run. Immediately off the bike my stomach tightened up. It wasn't GI cramps like I've had, it was higher, and it sucked. I had to walk for about a minute. I really wanted this AG win, so I ran through it. It got worse. I hit the first water station and had a big cup, which tasted amazing. I did the same on the second station. It was getting hot at this point, and I think 5 people passed me on the run, including Spencer. What would you do differently?: I need to drink more WATER on the bike, for sure. Post race
Warm down: Jumped back in the pool and drank cup after cup of water. Then I went to in-n-out burger and had Iced Tea and a Shake. It was fanfuckingtastic. What limited your ability to perform faster: Stupid decisions Event comments: I love this race; it's a new regular for me. The cool weather up there and the facilities were nice. It wasn't crowded. We got there a little late and still got a parking spot right near the finish line. Last updated: 2009-05-05 12:00 AM

Woke up at 5AM, ate a banana and 2 cups of coffee. Mmmmm
I saw 7 deer in the parking lot of the hotel. I love Prescott. Actually, let me take this opportunity to say that Prescott is freaking beautiful. I love the hills out there.
Splashed around in the kiddy pool. I think I was a bit over-caffeinated, if that's even possible, AM I RIGHT?
