Swim
Comments: Not too bad - I went out too hard - Forgot to focus on breathing and after crushing the first 100. I realized that I'd be sucking air and struggling for the remainder. But at the same time coming off of 7 days of camping does lead to the performance of the lifetime What would you do differently?: Focus on stroke and technique to settle in to a rhythm Transition 1
Comments: T1 is still a weakness - used the rubber band to hold my shoes in place but as I drove my feet in to the shoes they unclipped and had to slow down to get them set. Happened with both feet. What would you do differently?: Figure a way to get in to shoes with out unclipping Bike
Comments: I wanted to throw as much effort as I could on the bike and then give what ever I had left on the run. It worked out. The course made me swing wide and I missed a turn. 2 loops on the first loop the volunteer was before the turn and then next loop he moved after the turn so I smoked on by him and had to turn around. Not too major but looking at the results and losing by 30-40 seconds it didn't help. Nobody's fault but my own. I should start driving the course and learning it.... What would you do differently?: Not use my race wheels - learn the course Transition 2
Comments: No problems here. What would you do differently?: not much Run
Comments: Wanted to throw a better run. Had a side cramp for at least 2/3 of run. probably due to poor nutrtion on bike. Time trial racing makes you mentally stronger. My legs had more to give but the cramp was making it hard to surge. What would you do differently?: Be more confident in my run strength Post race
Warm down: Stretching - catch breath What limited your ability to perform faster: 4 hours of bad sleep - 12 hours of driving day prior Event comments: You can't blame too much on a $12 race. The road condition was the worst part. Fort Carson has some better roads. I'd do it again but not with my race wheels Last updated: 2009-05-05 12:00 AM
