Pre-race routine:

Dad went with me up to the race. Got my stuff together then hung around. Had to buy a stupid race # belt b/c I forgot mine.
Event warmup:

250 meters to the first buoy and back.
Swim
  • 24m 11s
  • 1000 meters
  • 02m 25s / 100 meters
Comments:

Best swim in a competition freestyle the whole time, and breathing was pretty regular.

Transition 1
  • 01m 24s
Comments:

Good transition, bike was far away from the entrance. Still a little flustered after a long swim like that.

Bike
  • 1h 04m 39s
  • 23 miles
  • 21.35 mile/hr
Comments:

Good bike overall, I stayed with the people that started out with me, and passed a bunch at the beggining and end. Got up to 48 mph TWICE.
What would you do differently?:

Pray for it not to rain.
Transition 2
  • 01m 16s
Comments:

Good except I really stumbled getting my bike back into the rack; just couldn't make up my mind.
What would you do differently?:

Not be so OCD.
Run
  • 46m 51s
  • 6.21 miles
  • 07m 32s  min/mile
Comments:

Badass run, although someone in my age group that I smoked on the bike blitzed by me right before I started my kick at 1200m, and I lost contact, and didn't get it back. Overall it was a really great run. I was more than pleased.

Post race
Warm down:

Walk to the car.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

I still suck at swimming. I didn't push as hard as I could have on the bike. I had some left over after the run, and I probably could have saved more time by putting a bigger effort in the bike as opposed to practically sprinting the run.

Event comments:

This is my 4th race, and 3 of them have been this tri-the-parks series. Last week I did West Point Lake Tri and was absolutely blown away by how well it was done. This series is just not as good. I really did enjoy it, but I can tell that it is not put together as well.
