Overall Rank = 128/584
Age Group = 35-39
Age Group Rank = 24/112
Pre-race routine:

Got up 4:30 ate a power bar and a banana with coffee.
Event warmup:

swam about 50 yards
Swim
  • 10m 4s
  • 400 yards
  • 02m 31s / 100 yards
Comments:

The wade start was so slow it took a while to even get in the water let alone start to swim. My group was 112 women so it was really crowded. I stayed in the middle because my sighting is usually not good. Got kicked by the breaststrokers a lot (&^%$#*). People stopped to wade out while water was still waist high so that cost time as well.
What would you do differently?:

Stay further to the outside - i think i lost more time in the shuffle that i would have swimming off course again.
Transition 1
  • 01m 7s
Bike
  • 41m 32s
  • 13 miles
  • 18.78 mile/hr
Comments:

Great bike - first time on the new tri bike. I felt really good - once i get more comfortable on the Kuota I will be flying for real.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing really. This is a tough bike because it is so crowded and the girls stay up to four deep so it is really hard to pass.
Transition 2
  • 00m 48s
Run
  • 32m
  • 3.1 miles
  • 10m 19s  min/mile
Comments:

If that was 3.1 I will eat something unpleasant...Cramped on the first mile - a little disappointed the tri bike didn't help my legs more. All I can say is I did NOT run a 12 minute last 1.1 mile. I put the course into mapmyrun and it came out to 3.45 i would love to know if anyone had a garmin on them.
What would you do differently?:

Running is my challenge in life but I felt really great and strong so no complaints really.
Post race
Warm down:

Hung out with the girls and had a Sales blitz "massage" at the PT Solutions tent :-) a bit aggressive those guys!!

Event comments:

I have to say the logistics of this race is a definite minus. I am not sure I will do it again - it is especially hard for spectators with small children. The atmosphere amongst the girls though is just so great.
