Swim
  • 35m 2s
  • 1640 yards
  • 02m 08s / 100 yards
Comments:

With the small exception of the race being turned upside down the water wasnt bad.
What would you do differently?:

I would not save as much for the end, since it was my first Oly I wasnt sure how much it would take out of me and took it really easy during the swim.
Transition 1
  • 02m 9s
Comments:

Transition was good, took a little longer because my jersey would go on correctly.
What would you do differently?:

Have extra towel to dry off better with

Back at home on the bike, so much more comfortable that the water. Great race with a good pace, I was only passed by 3 bikes that were uber aero.(Cervelo P3, Lightspeed Blade, QR Lucero). I quess I just like to bike.
What would you do differently?:

Try and consume more liquid and finish a complete gel before finishing
Transition 2
  • 00m 56s
Comments:

Good transition time here.
What would you do differently?:

Maybe take a little longer on a long drink, and have shoes off before I hit transition
Run

  • 6.21 miles
  • 07m 17s  min/mile
Comments:

Ok on the run used up a little too much energy on the bike but that was ok.
What would you do differently?:

Need to work on bricks more often
Post race
Warm down:

Stop moving. Very little stretching went in search of water.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Inexperience at the Olympic distance.

Event comments:

First year, there was a glitch at the beginning with sprinters having to go out first in order to keep everyone from swimming over eachother. Small mix up in the 2 waves of male olympic with the second wave not gettinig thier 5 min. taken off. The water at the end of the race was gone, but they made up for it by filling extra water bottles. Great atmospher especially for a first year event! Can't wait til next year.
