Swim
Comments: Crazy! I never could get a good relaxed rhythm. I was breathing every 2nd stroke on right side only. I had to side stroke for a while to get away from frenzied kicking and splashing people. It was nreve-wracking. My goggles fogged up, too. Towards the end, someone hit in my left eye and my goggles leaked on that side. What would you do differently?: More practice swimming near others. Transition 1
Comments: I sort of ran with bike. It wasn't as jammed as last year, but still you could only lope along until you exited the transition area. What would you do differently?: Go faster. Bike
Comments: Felt great on the bike, but was disappointed that I only picked up 3 minutes over last year when I did it on a mtn bike with slicks. What would you do differently?: I decided at the last moment not to use my camel back, and just use a water bottle. Would that make a differnce? Transition 2
Comments: I did worse than last year. Last year, I put socks on in T1, and this time I waited until T2, but I don't think that alone counts for 30 seconds. Run
Comments: With so many people, I have a hard time finding "my" pace. I picked up time from last year, so I am happy. What would you do differently?: Run faster! Post race
Event comments: A great day. I had a personal goal and I missed it by 10 seconds... But overall I am very happy! Last updated: 2005-07-31 12:00 AM
