Pre-race routine:

Woke up at 5:45, had some coffee and a pb sandwich. Set up my stuff in TA and wandered around.
Event warmup:

Rode a little just to make sure the bike was OK, did not run this time, I had a lot of time on my feet the day before.
Got in the lake at 8:25 to swim a little before my wave went off.
Swim
  • 17m 32s
  • 820 yards
  • 02m 08s / 100 yards
Comments:

I thought I had a better swim than this, I found someone to draft off of and stuck with them for about 1/2 the swim. It was choppy, and not wetsuit legal this weekend. Two guys in my age group were 5 minutes faseter on the swim, 5 minutes!
What would you do differently?:

Maybe I did not push it hard enough because I was drafting? This swim was about 4 minutes slower than last week, and I don't think a wetsuit makes that much difference.
Transition 1
  • 01m 10s
Comments:

Good transition, fastest T1 time in my age group.
What would you do differently?:

Not a whole lot I think I could do different.
Bike
  • 38m 22s
  • 14 miles
  • 21.89 mile/hr
Comments:

I was trying to at least have the same bike time as last week, I had figured that I had done somehwere around 38 minutes last week so that was my goal. I came up on someone in my AG on the second lap and we must have swapped positions 5-6 times on the bike.
What would you do differently?:

Go faster:)
I really can't think of much that I would have done different, I need to ride more but my biking is slowly getting better.
Transition 2
  • 00m 43s
Comments:

Second fastest T2 time in my AG
What would you do differently?:

Not a whole lot I think I could do different.
Run
  • 21m 56s
  • 3.11 miles
  • 07m 03s  min/mile
Comments:

This was a good run for me, I hit the first mile at 7:00 and probably kept a pretty even pace. I was trying to look for people that I knew in my AG, after I make the turn I saw 2 of them maybe 30 seconds behind so I really tried to keep it going. I made the mistake of thinking that I was ahead of #1 and #2 in my AG:(
What would you do differently?:

Run faster!
Post race
Warm down:

Walked around a bit, stretched, found my wife and cheered on some of the other tri-clubbers that were racing.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Good race for me, 2 minutes slower than last weekend, but no wetsuit, the bike had more wind and people on it, so all in all I was happy.

Event comments:

Love this race and the whole weekend. I plan to do both spints again next year.
