Swim
Comments: 2009 Swim Time = 31:53 2008 Swim Time = 27:55 Meh.. I thought I would do better than that. I heard the course was long, but it still counts as my time for a 1.5k swim. My biggest pet peeve with GA Multisports is the inconsistancy with their swim courses. I know someone who works there and he verifies that some GA Multisports people take their time to lay out the swim course, while others just throw it up. That certainly looks to be true. As far as my swim, I felt good the entire way. No issues. What would you do differently?: Nothing. Swim faster. Transition 1
Comments: 2009 T1 time :47 2008 T1 time :54 Second fastest in my new age group.. i still am adjusting to that whole new age group thing.. yuck! Excellent T1 What would you do differently?: Nothing. Bike
Comments: 2009 Bike Time = 1:13:08 2008 Bike Time = 1:13:28 WTF is all I can say here. I thought I would do better. I dropped my chain and had to stop, but only lost a minute there total time. Chain was stuck between frame and cassette, so I had to yank to free it. Anyway, I felt strong out there and thought I would have had a faster time than I did. Something I have lost with my lack of racing in the last year is having good insight into what I am doing on the course. Could I have pushed harder.. probably. What would you do differently?: Not much. Keep training. I did a really tough century ride 6 days prior, but I don't think that played into the bike at this race too much. Could be wrong, but that's how it 'felt'. Transition 2
Comments: 2009 T2 Time = 1:02 2008 T2 Time = :55 I little slower than last year. All due to not being sure where my T spot was. I had to slow down and look. Easily cost me the 7 seconds. What would you do differently?: Count the racks from Bike in. Usually I can count on my Marine Corps towel to stick out, but there were numerous red towels in the same general area. Run
Comments: 2009 Run Time = 49:00 2008 Run Time = 48:04 I have to say, I felt good on this run. Even with being almost a minute slower than last year. I have lost speed, again due to lack of racing, as well as the absence of any kind of speed work in my current training. I felt strong out there, and that's really all I can ask for at this point. Speed work starts with this race. What would you do differently?: Nothing. I had a good run. I'm just not as fit right now. On my way though. Post race
Warm down: None. Drank a beer, ate some delicious choc chip cookies. What limited your ability to perform faster: lack of racing, and to some small extent, my current daily life routine, which is no routine at all. Event comments: Dropping this race to an Average rating. It's a good one that I will do again, but the swim course inconsistancies from year to year is inexcuseable. I don't care if the course is long, just as long as it's the same. Otherwise, GA Multisports still is a very well run organization. They always put on a good event. Last updated: 2009-05-12 12:00 AM

Left atl @ 4:30 for the drive to WPL, bike to Transition. Approx 1 mile. Drank a Kroger brand ensure at around 4:15am to test taking in nutrition earlier than usual. Got there, setup T and hit the beach.
Swim out to first bouy and back. Felt good.
