What would you do differently?: Try to ignore the people around me. I know it's hard to do but once I did I got into a groove. Transition 1
Comments: This was slow to me but I think I needed it. Bike
Comments: I was most disappointed with the bike. I was passed several times but for the most part they were people with really nice bikes and belonged to tri clubs. One thing I was aware of was the gears they were riding in and I tried to learn from that. What would you do differently?: Train harder on the bike and get a professional bike fitting. Transition 2
Comments: I started to cramp a bit in T2 which made me nervous for the run. Run
Comments: Cramped up twice right at the start, so I stopped to stretch. One guy passed me and told me "it will go away", and 5 feet later he said "tomorrow". I thought that was funny. I blew passed him though about a half mile later. What would you do differently?: This pace is really slow for me, but I think I was hesitant because I cramped so early. So maybe I should drink more. Post race
Warm down: Little walking and stretching. What limited your ability to perform faster: Nerves. I think I need a bike fitting. Figure out how not to get calf cramps. Event comments: I thought this was a nice race, especially because it was my first. I'd do this again for sure. Last updated: 2009-05-12 12:00 AM

Fell asleep late probably because of anxiety (this was my first tri). Woke up early, had eggs, bagel with peanut butter, water and coffee.
Probably not enough. Didn't really ride the bike much other than to check the gears. Ran for a few minutes and swam for a few as well.
