Swim
What would you do differently?: I can definitely cut about 4 minutes off my swim time by putting more effort in and still keeping under the redline. Transition 1
Comments: It was still pretty cold/cool out and my feet wouldn't go into my shoes today. Not sure what was different...I didn't get really hung up on this facet, and I was cruising to the highway in short time. What would you do differently?: Not sure, I might try to use baby powder in the shoes so my feet get in easier??? Bike
Comments: I pushed on the bike but certainly not really hard. I didn't know what I could do in the form of a hard pace and still have enough left for the bike. What would you do differently?: Definitely push harder. Try to get to a 25mph average on the flats. Looking back I had plenty of energy on the run and there were no cramping or fatigue issues at all! Transition 2
Comments: Uh, I forgot to take my feet out of the bike shoes before approaching T2. I was too busy staying away from the asshole that was drafting off of me and another guy the whole bike. What would you do differently?: Stop letting people get into my head and remember to race "my race". Run
Comments: Kept my effort level and heart rate at a very comfortable level. I have to understand the distance of these events so that I can evaluate my energy stores and dig deep to get the best effort for the distance What would you do differently?: Run Faster! Because I can take it. Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster: My first outdoor tri of the season. So, I really didn't know where my fitness level would put me as far as how hard I could go before breaking down. It turns out, I could have gone a lot harder. Event comments: This is a great race. It's billed as a Sprint Distance event but with an 800 meter swim, and a 4 mile run, it's on the longer side of most of the sprints in the Chicago area. It's a great opportunity to hit a Sprint event with some longer sections. Last updated: 2009-05-12 12:00 AM

Get up, get some PBJ, visit the bathroom, hit the road.
Had to get in and out of the water for about 10 minutes before the start. THE WATER WAS 58 DEGREES!!!!!!!! It hurt my feet so much that it took 10 minutes to get accostomed to the water so that my feet didn't hurt anymore.
