Run
Comments: I felt good through most of the run. I was passed by people on each hill. I could tell right at mile 10 that I hadn't ever done a training run longer than 10 miles. By mile 11, my head was up again and I was more positive and I think my pace was faster. I felt really strong when I finished after I saw my mom and my kids waiting for me! What would you do differently?: Train more hills, train at or longer than the race distance. Treat hills as an opportunity to run strong, instead of an opportunity to slow down. Post race
Warm down: Walk, stretch, water, massage What limited your ability to perform faster: I'm pretty slow. Event comments: This was a fun race! I don't have any other running races to compare it to, but I enjoyed it. There were lots of smiling, helpful, encouraging volunteers. It was run out of a school, so there was indoor plumbing! And there were just the right number of drink stations for me. Last updated: 2009-05-13 12:00 AM

Got up really early, packed stuff and ate pb toast, drank water, drove to event. It took a lot less time to get there before dawn than it does during rush hour, so I was early. I had plenty of time before the race!
