Long run from swim exit. I thought it was going to be a straight shot from the swim exit into transition, but they had you run around.

This was not fun at all. It was too dang hot for me. I wish the heat didn't zap me as much as it does, but it just kills me. Run was mostly in the sun and just brutual.
What would you do differently?:

Train to be ready for heat indexes of 100 degrees. I thought it warm, but not this warm.

Drank some pure sport and waited to get out of the transition area.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Not being able to withstand the heat on the run.

Event comments:

This should have been called the Dust Bowl Triathlon. Transition and post race party was nothing but dirt.
