Run
Comments: Gave it my best. May have started out too fast for me. What would you do differently?: Bring a lean cuisine to eat for dinner the night before. Give up the idea of ethnic restaurants. Mexiacan , Thai & Indian the day before running is just not smart. Post race
Warm down: Chocolate milk, cheese stick, stretched. Massage tent backed up by about 100 people so walked to motel and cold ice bathed & showered. What limited your ability to perform faster: Cramped quads and calf at mile 18. Staffer suggested Gatorade at next stop.Last hour was pathetic as my pace dropped horribly and I had some "death shuffle." Event comments: I need to face the fact that I must carry a fuel belt even when the stations are plentiful. I need to find an electrolyte replacement because the Gu and water are not enough to keep me from cramping. My last 20 mile needs to be within 3 weeks of the event. Consider going 22-24 miles and/or upping pace at later stages. Last updated: 2009-05-17 12:00 AM

Slept fairly well beforehand.Followed Hal Higdon Intermediate 1 as close as I could. Had to switch last 20 mi a week earlier and limit to 16 mi d/t wind&rain and son's First Communion. Will this be too early/little? Ate at Mexican restaurant night before. Amazing how vegetables can get fried up in grease.
No warmup needed.1/2 cup coffee and energy bar 1 hour prior; gel and water while in the potty line 10 minute before start.
