Comments: Felt great at the beginning, however went out faster than ever before. Mile 1 Time: 7.23.49, Mile 2 Time: 7.45.87, and last part 1.1 mile Time: 8.34.37. Total: 23.45 I was 11th out of 125 men in the 35 - 39 Age Group I was 147th out of 2603 total runners. What would you do differently?: Not work on legs earlier in the week (lunges). Post race
Warm down: Continued to walk and drank water, gatorade (cramping). What limited your ability to perform faster: Shin splints hurt, but not sure they were really a factor. Event comments: Started 10 minutes late. Last updated: 2009-05-18 12:00 AM

At breakfast: Toast with Natural PB & Apricot (Low Sugar) Jam. Cup of coffee, water, grapes and an energy bar. Ate an apple 1/2 hour prior to race and a gel back 10 minutes prior to race.
Stretching of legs and back and precusor on shins. Iced first thing in the morning on shins.
