Swim
Comments: Crappy first swim, got out past the first set of breakers great, then could not find a clean spot to swim. It was like swimming in a washing machine. I should have just put my head down and got through it. What would you do differently?: Picked a less crowded line, although there were probably 90 people in the wave so I'm not sure it would have made much difference. Transition 1
Bike
Comments: I could not get into one of my bike shoes, so I ended up riding the first half of the first loop with my foot on top. What would you do differently?: Get into my shoes quicker. Transition 2
Run
Comments: Great run for me, the first was 11:04, the second was 3 seconds quicker at 11:01. Ususally I run out of gas on the second run. The heat did not bother me much. What would you do differently?: Run faster:) Post race
Warm down: Picked up cones. What limited your ability to perform faster: Bad first swim. Event comments: It's been 2 years since I did this race, I'd forgotten how much fun it is. Energy wise I felt good, I'm working with coach Matt on nutrition and I'ts going to make a big difference. Kinda blah about the race, but I think every once in a while you need a race like this to jump start you. Looking at the results and my training I got the results that I deserved. Slacking off on the run and bike training just won't cut it. Last updated: 2009-05-18 12:00 AM

Woke up at 4:15!! My wife had to be there at 5:15 to get the volunteers ready, and I had to be there at 5:45 to do cones, so we rode together.
Ate a bannana/honey sandwich, gatorade and a 1/2 cup of coffee.
No warmup, no time, I was setting up my beach transition at 8:05
