Since the transition area was nearly all grass I should have just put on my shoes and ran with them through the transition.

Man I just didn't have it. Run is always my weakest event, but I wasn't psyched out about it, my last brick went well. First 500m cramped in both groins, never cramped there before. Went downhill from there. Stopped at least three times to walk. Very disappointed in the run portion.
What would you do differently?:

Train and then train some more.

Run. How about another water station organizers?

Event comments:

First off you have to have restroom facilities for racers. Flaggers should be at every turn on the bike section. I was put off by the time chip mat being removed and the clock turned off before the last runner was off the course. Where did the organizers have to be so quickly on a Sunday morning? I didn't even see or hear the awards ceremony, nor did I find the post race snacks and drink options to be sufficient. Perhaps like me the organizers had an off day. I will certainly shoot for a better performance next time hopefully Champ Racing will too.

Swim was pretty congested. Heart rate and adrenaline were pumping like crazy, needed to calm down and get into a rhythm much sooner. Wasn't nerves, but it was my first race in six years.

Course: Nice out and back, with out being slightly more uphill. I had a great second half thanks to a generous fifty something providing motivation and gatorade. I lost my bottle in the first mile. That hurt.
