Swim
Comments: This was a sprint! I was definitely not expecting people's bodies to be over top of me while I was swimming... It was crazy. I definitely need to improve my swim because my form went out the window race time and I was just moving my arms as fast as possible... What would you do differently?: Train more Relax a bit Concentrate on form Transition 1
Comments: I had to run so far in my bike shoes that it wasn't even funny. I got my wetsuit off extremely fast, my gear on and my shoes on fairly fast. I had a bit of trouble getting on the bike, but that was all. What would you do differently?: Get on my bike better. Bike
Comments: Good bike ride. I passed a ton of people here (including people not in my race) and did not get passed once. What would you do differently?: Get to know the course better and trust my judgment. Transition 2
Comments: I did not like the long run to transition one bit and I forgot to take my feet out of my shoes before getting off the bike which cost me some time. I also did not get off the bike very smoothly. When I got into transition, it was smooth sailing from there, I got my socks and shoes on and left. What would you do differently?: Remember to take feet out of shoes before dismount and actually dismounting properly. Run
Comments: I kept a faily high pace here and held it. I asked 2 officials where the turn around point was while running because I thought I might have missed it, but it turns out I didn't. What would you do differently?: Check the course out before the race. Post race
Warm down: I drank some water and ate my apple. I also walked around the mall to cool down my legs. What limited your ability to perform faster: My newbie skills limited my ability to perform faster. Event comments: It was a beautiful day and the volunteers were great. I am glad I chose this as my first triathlon. Got up at 4:00 a.m. and ate some eggs and toast. Get all my stuff together as well as my bike in the small car (had to take off both wheels) and left at 5:10 a.m. We arrived at 6:10 a.m., I got my race kit, a laid out my transition. I asked my sister to guard my place while I took my bike to the mount/dismount like. When I came back, someone took my place!!! I still managed to squeeze my bike in there.
I swam a bit of a warm up and was extremely satisfied with the water temperature. Could not have asked for a better water temperature, and then we were off!
